sarah rose taylor, soprano

Sarah Rose Taylor, soprano, grew up in rural Lincolnshire, England. Since a young age music was a major part of her life and while growing up she won many singing awards and sang as a soloist and an ensemble singer on several recordings, radio and television broadcasts.

In 2001, Sarah moved to France to pursue an undergraduate degree in French Studies at the British Institute in Paris and then a Maîtrise in French Language Teaching at La Sorbonne. Throughout her studies she continued singing and was a soloist with the Wells Consort under the direction of Christopher Wells and a soloist and section leader with the American Cathedral Choir in Paris, under the direction of Edward Tipton.

While in Paris, Sarah studied voice firstly with Catherine Justice and since July 2006 with Karen Nimereala. Thanks to Karen Nimereala, Sarah has sung in recitals in Paris and St. Germain des Grois and in May 2007 Sarah auditioned and got accepted into the Masters in Vocal Performance programme at Hunter College, New York for the Spring semester of 2008. On arrival in New York in December 2007 Sarah was asked to record the German opera, Frühlings Erwachen by George Woodbridge, singing the part of Wendla.
